MINUTES OF A COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON WEDNESDAY 23rd AUGUST 2023 AT 6.30PM VIA ELECTRONIC MEDIA AND AT THE VILLAGE HALL.

 

Present: Mrs Jane Dawkins, Mrs Jan Sharpless, and Mr David Williams.

In Attendance: S Dale (Clerk)

 

JD welcomed everyone to the meeting.

1. Apologies. BC, LS-W, GT, MB, DM & HD.

2. Declarations of Interest -None

3. Planning Applications 23/22144/FUL 26, Pencommin. Extension.

No objection however, council commented that the plans show a pitch roof which is not integrated into the orgiinal roof scheme like a neighbouring property.

4. A discussion on the recent problems with the bridge and possible solutions.

The “traffic lights” appear to make matters worse especially at busy times. The situation may be alleviated by trimmimg back the lower branches of the trees in the property adjacent to the bridge on the Llagynidr side. Clerk to request.

Clerk to also ask the Traffic Engineer at Powys County Council to come and consult with council about the bridge before the turn of the year.

5. Hedge cutting at the car park.

Clerk to arrange quotes for the hedge cutting insde and outside the car park. Other issues include weeds in the tarmac and nettles on the car park boundary.

6. Membership of One Voice Wales.

£193.00 fee and membership approved.

7. Any other business.

Speedwatch reporting.

Refresh Car Parking areas to be actioned by Powys County Council.

Dog poo situation has improved but is still a problem.
